Shoplifting in Michigan

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

I live in Michigan and got caught for retail fraud at wal-mart it was a total of 48 dollars. When the police officer arrived he searched me and found other stolen goods from previous stores that day he then searched my car and found other goods as well, the total cost was about 600-700 dollars. Heres the thing the police officer gave me a ticket then let me free i called about the ticket and they told me to come in on any Monday from now to May 6 before 8:30 a.m. Im also getting ready to graduate highschool and start college this is my first time doing something like this. Do i need an attorney? What should i expect? will i get jail time? Fine, if so how much?

You spent at least two days shoplifting quite a lot of merchandise...frankly, it doesn't have the feel of a first timer to it.
I doubt you'll go to jail THIS time.
Unless you don't pay ALL of the fines and do everything the court orders you to do.

yea my first time shoplifting. Do i need to get an attorney? The lady on the phone told me i had to see a majestry or something like that, do you know what that is?

A magistrate is a judge.

See the judge and ask for a pd if you qualify.
