MIP Citation Wrong Date, Officer Put Down 2006 Instead of 2009
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I received an MIP in Chico, Ca. I was very cooperative with the officer and I may be able to play the pity role in court. I pleaded not-guilty in court and another date was scheduled for the trial. I was recently looking over my ticket and realized that the officer wrote down 2/21/06 instead of 2/21/09. This is a big difference, not a small mistake from a year change. Should I set my defense around pity and cooperation, or is there a stance I can take on the date issue.

The officer clearly made a handwriting error. I don't think that's going to get your ticket tossed out - graphological mistakes happen, most cops write like doctors, and it's all too easy to write too fast and make a hash of it.
How good is your pathetic and contrite puppydog face?
