Emancipation Help
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: California
I am 16 years old and am starting to look into getting emancipated. I can take care of myself for the most part (cook, clean, etc.) but in terms of financial management, I kind of have a weird case. I have a good friend that I have known for a while and he recently won the super lotto for $11,000,000 and is buying a house and is fully willing to support me. We are also looking into other means of income but for the time being, that would be the primary source. I also have a few reasons why I am looking to emancipate but am not willing to openly speak about it. If someone who could help me could message me, I'd be happy to discuss it more in private.
Thanks in advance,
Pat

Re: Emancipation Help
Emancipation means self support. Emancipation does not mean that someone else is supporting you. Unless you, yourself, are capable of paying for your own rent, food, clothes, utilities, medical care, transportation, insurance, school fees and supplies, and all the other incidentals of life, it doesn't matter how many lottery winners are lining up to offer you support; you cannot be emancipated.

Re: Emancipation Help
Hey, Patrick.
I am also a sixteen year old looking into emancipation. I've got a steady job and have a lready found places within my price range to stay. Do you happen to know how to go about aquiring the legal forms for emancipation?
Sorry to ask you a question instead of answering it, but I would love to discuss it in private as well.
Email me, or post back.
