16, Pregnant by 19 Year Old
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: North Carolina
I am a sixteen year old living in north Carolina, I turn 17 in august, I am pregnant by my nineteen year old boyfriend and my parents don’t approve of him. Me and my parents have had a ruff past history and have had issues with dss before. The age consent law in nc is 16 and it says the age difference in nc is four years. My questions are can my parents get my boyfriend arrested still when they find out im pregnant? Do I still have to live with them once the paternity test is established? Or once I turn seventeen? Do they have any legal rights over my child? what legal right do they have over me still?

No. At 16, you're legally able to consent to sex with whomever you want.

Yes, unless they consent for you to move out prior to 18.

The right to insist that you abide by their rules as long as you live in their house - which you must do until the age of 18 - and that includes staying away from your boyfriend if they forbid you from seeing him.
