Do I Have to Trademark All of My Designs
    Hi

I am in the process of having my logo for my t shirt company trademarked?
I was wondering if I need to trademark all of my designs on my shirts. For example: (only an example) If my logo is a cat snarling with cat nip apperall llc, then I have my designs of the cat playing soccer, Dancing, playing football etc... Do I need to trademark them to proterct them?

I was told that if the cat is doing something other than what is in the logo, They need to be trademarked.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You can probably get by with copyright, which is comparatively cheap and can be done en masse.

To expand a bit on the previous answer.

If you have a logo/artwork for "Hodgie's T-Shirt Company" that you use on all of your shirts to identify your work/brand, then you would want to register that as a trademark.

The individual designs for the shirts would be protected by copyright. You should file the designs with the USPTO.

If someone copies your shirts with your logo you can sue them under trademark and copyright law. As a bogus trademark you can get product seized and have lots of other benefits you won't get under copyright. If they only copy your designs, then you'd go after them strictly under copyright.
