I Never Got My Green Card - What Can I Do
I have been an american resident since 1989, however I never got my permanent resident card, since I had to move from city to city. last year I had to travel back to my country of origin. They dindt allow me to travel back since all I have is an expired temporary resident card. I was forced to get a tourist visa in order to get back to the us. My question is, can I file an I 90 application in order to get my permanent green card?
I got my permanent green card in 1989 through an agricultural amnesty last time I called the uscis service, they told me all I had to do was file an I 90 application. in fact I did, but when I recieved my citation to get my biometrics donde i had already travelled. My question is , knowing that I already have a tourist visa, can I still get my permanent green card?
should I file an I 90 application again
Re: I Never Got My Green Card - What Can I Do
You may already be out of luck. You would normally simply order a replacement, but with your having failed to keep the USCIS appraised of your address, having left the U.S., and having reentered as a tourist, you may now find that the USCIS regards you as having abandoned permanent residency. I suggest consulting an immigration lawyer.
