Email Accounts, Naked Myspace Pictures, the List Goes On
My question involves defamation in the state of: NJ / Florida
I still had access to one of my ex's email accounts (he had given me the password), from there, I was able to get access to his myspace account information (without his consent). I found a VERY unflattering naked picture of his current lover. I posted it as HIS default picture on myspace. (yes, I am angry and bitter, but also fighting for full custody of my children after i was repeatedly cheated on and abused).
How much trouble I am looking at here?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh ye gods and tiny fishes.
You do understand that when this is brought up in the custody hearings, you're going to (justifiably) get the rough side of the judge's tongue, yes? I suspect words along the lines of "What dumbassery is this??".
You're looking at the possibility of unauthorized access to computer resources. And, of course, a violation of MySpace TOS.
You have NOT made yourself look good in the eyes of the court.
Re: Email Accounts, Naked Myspace Pictures, the List Goes On
Actually by him giving you the password that is giving you consent. It is his own fault for not changing it. But it is your fault for being so immature.
And before someone says I am wrong. Think about it. If I grant you access to my account no matter what it is on the net. I give you the user name and password. I am granting you access to any information pertaining to that account. I would be held responsible for any code of conduct misdoings you do while logged in to my account.
That is why you should never give out your user name and password.
