Wage garnishment from employee tips
How would a student loan-related wage garnishment work if an employee's entire income is tips?
The $2.13/hour wage I earn from the restaurant is always completely eaten up by taxes so I rarely ever get an actual paycheck. The money I earn is nearly always 100% from tips. On the rare occasion when I do get a check, it's always for some tiny amount, like 30 cents or $1.15 or whatever.
Are tips (or at least, the credit card tips, which are formally logged and claimed by the restaurant) subject to garnishment?
I live in Texas, if that means anything here.
Thanks!
