Juvenile shoplifting

My child and 2 others were arrested for shoplifting...with a combined ttl of goods $580.00. He is 16. What could be possible charges and what are we to expect from juvenile court? also one of the kids had been detained by a department store about a month earlier for shoplifting but not arrested? Would that show up on their record?

If their records are clean, they're probably going to be sentenced to probation. The prior incident probably won't be known to the court if the police weren't involved.
