Will I Be Able to Get an Emancipation
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: North Carolina.

i wanted to know if i can get an emancipation for these reasons, please tell me if i can. Ok, 1st off, my mom has always been an alcoholic and is always making me feel horrible and guilty. i try to get her to quit but she never has and probably never will. i see no signs of her quitting. she tried AA meetings but that failed. we've gotten in physical altercations over this and i personaly cant stand this stress anymore. she hardly takes on any responsibilty. our house a disaster now. i try to clean and my sister should help but she, as well, is lazy like my mom. my mom works 3rd shift and my stepdad drives a truck. so there is no time for family time. my girlfriend wants me to move in with her, and her mom said its ok. so i have a place to live and her mom can definately support me. so there shouldnt be a problem right? tell me please.

emancipation has nothing to do with how you get treated at home, or if your mom is lazy. In order to be emancipated, you must prove to the court that you are self supporting (living at a friend's house at the expense of the friend's parents is not self supporting) and are better off on your own.

Your situation is in no way sufficient to be emancipated.

Tell me, what do you think emancipation is? I can tell you what it isn't, and it isn't what you've described above.
