Drug Paraphernalia and "Pot" Possession by a Minor
Wow lets just say i messed up big and tried Pot and brought it to school to get rid of it and get my money back. While i was at school someone asked me to hold onto their "pipe" so i said uhh sure and welp teacher saw him give it to me.

Im 14 i live in missouri and i had about 3 grams of Pot on me and a pipe.
I got a letter in the mail i have a court date and its about "poss. drug. para."

I know i messed up and im a very good kid; honor roll so on the guy that called me into his office said I was VERY honest and said that would work out for me

I would like to know the charges i could face, hopefully i do not want to get kicked out of my school (district Lee's Summit mo.)

    so what could i face?

anything i could do to lighten up the judge? volentary random drug test and drug searches?:(

I will look up the statutes... but bringing illegal drugs onto school property almost assures a suspension and your enrollment in an alternative school (read, a school where other kids that violated the law are sent).

You need an attorney and a summer job. The attorney to try and minimize the incredible damage you have done and a summer job to pay your parents back for the thousands of dollars you are going to cost them in your legal fees, fines and court costs.

I recommend something involving an awful lot of sweat on your part.

So far im suspended for school for 10 days
Ive been gone from school for a week, ive sanded a whole deck by hand, painted the house, ton of stuff for my dad.

Im a child of divorced parents and i have to visit my Father in the summer time on the breaks for school so job will be hard but i would def. take a job to repay my step dad, how much money do you think i will need to save up?

I dont know if im going to be charged for the court, or is that how it allways goes? im going up against the school board, which happens to be about 30 feet from my school.

Good for you... and your parents.

I know I am just another adult. But know that I am also a parent of a child about a year older than you.

Several thousand. Call it three on the outside.

    The school board is nothing.

The costs will start when you go to criminal court.

Let me be Unca Jeff for a second.

At your age, you are likely to face a fine, community service and probation. If you keep your nose clean, this should fall off your record when everything is completed.

That is actually not the worst cost.

At 14, your parents (and step parents) were just starting to trust you to make the right decisions in your own life. You made a pretty terrible call here... to try pot, to buy pot, to carry pot, to hold a pipe for someone... etc, etc, etc...

All of the people you love most right now are very upset. Yeah, I am sure some of it came out as anger.... but they are also hurt at the disappointment you have brought and are worried that they aren't very good parents.

There is a dump truck load of hurt and anger parked out in front of the house.

Some kids will hear that and think that all of these people stopped loving them. Therefore, they will think that they can keep screwing up because no one cares.

Don't be that kid. You will have to prove to your parents that the kid you have shown them that you are isn't really you. A bump in the road... a mistake you won't make twice because you want more for yourself than that kind of decision will bring you to be.

Be smart. Know that you screwed up and accept your punishment (both public and private) as the mature person that you want the world to believe you to be. The first real sign of maturity is the ability to say, "I screwed up... I accept my punishment as the proper response to my own choices. I sincerely apologize for putting my FAMILY through this... and won't do it twice."

Some people never understand this message.

Do the right thing. You are in a fork in the road. One way is bumpy as heck... and will be mostly uphill. It is also the only way to regain the trust and respect of the people you trust and respect the most.

    Good luck.
