Emancipating My Girlfriend
Okay, I live in the state of Utah, I am age 17 turning 18 real soon. My mom and step dad are not getting along. My mom is finding a new house and I am going with. I am currently finding a job for a girl I really love, I known her for sometime now, and we are finally dating (internet dating), I am serious with her, I can trust her. Shes going to be 16 really soon. She lives in South Corlina, but the thing is, her guardians (mom, dad, step dad) are neglecting her. And the thing is, I want to get her out and bring her here. I really do want to support her, I will even quit school right now and do it. We plan to meet at a place in another state where a gaming touriment will be held at.
So what age or what can I do to get her over here in Utah. parental consent? If so is their another way then parental consent. I will do in my power to try and get her. Please do not judge me, I really mean all of this. And I am looking for some advice. Thank you

You need to stay out of a custody battle that has nothing to do with you.
The feelings you have for a girl you met over the internet mean nothing.
She cannot move without parental consent. Further, no judge in any jurisdiction is going to emancipate a child so that she can go live with another youth she met through the internet.
Re: Adobtion, Emancipation, Underage
you need to reign in your hormones there guy. What proof do you have than anything this child has told you is true. Everything is obviously colored by her position in everything and some kids will simply do anything to get out from under their parents control.
IF you continue to communicate with this girl, realize she is a child and as such, can be a source of great problems should you attempt to involve yourself in any of her family relationships.

This shows a real lack of maturity on your part, especially given the current economic conditions. Quitting school should never cross your lips if you really want to make anything of yourself. It is much harder to provide any level of support nearing a "comfortable" level with lack of proof of education.
Re: Adobtion, Emancipation, Underage
By the way, we are not saying she is lying.
We are just saying that 1) teenage girls tend to exaggerate (I have one myself) and 2) you shouldn't trust anything you are told over the internet.
For instance, I could tell you that I am a supermodel that is interested in gaming, Three Stooges movies, flatulence jokes and pizza.
How would you know any different?
Banking your whole future on a possibility is a sucker's bet.
Re: Adobtion, Emancipation, Underage
Most teenagers are immature, but I do relize my life will be spent on her. I am asking for advice on how to contain her. Trust me, when you learn about it me, I am a man of my word, or in your eyes a little boy whos in puppy love. I am in great love. The thing is her parents are abusive, and I made a promise to get her, and I don't break promises, I try my best not to break promises. Thats the thing with me. I can trust her with my heart, soul, mind anything. She has proven a lot that made her so loyal.
I don't need High School diploma or a GED, it may help a lot in this world. But I've been messing with computers for a long time now, computer tech, but an unoffical one. I think if I could do this, it would make me the happy man.
So please may I request for some good advice on how to get her, what can I do to bring her down here. I don't want to see some negitive posts, I don't want to see that. But I know your telling to tell me I am some boy who thinks I am in love. But I am in love, true love.
Thank you for your time
Re: Adobtion, Emancipation, Underage
ok, fine.
there is absolutely nothing you can do to legally "contain" (for some reason the simple use of that word really worries me) her. You have no legal rights to involve yourself in her life.

I know I have no legal right, but in her own will, I've asked her if she wanted to move with my and my mom. But so your saying is in her will, if she really wanted this. Than I can get custudy or something?

NO!!!! There is nothing you can do to gain custody of this child.
Think about what you are saying. You want "custody" of this child. That is not something a paramour would seek. That is something a parent or guardian would seek.

Are you aware of the status of the economy right now? The fact that more businesses are doing more layoffs than hiring anyone? People moving into tents because they cannot afford their homes? But on the off chance that someone is hiring for a computer technician; do you think the employer is going to go for someone who dropped out of High school because he believed he knew all that the needed to know or the applicant that has applied himself and has a positive track record of employment and has most likely spelt everything correctly on his application?
If she is being abused and you wish to help her out you can contact the DSS of South Carolina. http://dss.sc.gov/

And, just that easily, we go from love struck to creepy.

You are not a man of any kind.

You made a promise that you had no business making.
That doesn't mean the rest of the world has to change to make your promise work.
It means that you are a little boy that overextended your reach.

Boy.
Whatever, doesn't matter.

Legally, what you are is an internet predator trying to convince a minor child to cross state lines for a physical relationship.
That violates Utah, South CAROLINA and federal law.
To pursue this relationship another minute is a tremendous risk unless the thought of spending a number of years surrounded by men with poor personal hygiene and then the rest of your life as a sex offender appeals to you.
Love is not a affirmative defense to internet stalking.
