Disputed Credit Card Debt
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Texas and Louisiana.
I recently disputed a debt with two agencies. Both agencies sent back letters but no proper validation. What happens next? Do I send another letter asking for the same info?
Also, my debt is from the state of La. but I now reside in Texas. Which SOL would be used in court? The SOL is up in the state of La. and will be in Texas in just a few months.
If I do pay them do they have to sign a letter of deletion?
I am currnetly a stay at home mom with no assests to take. Can they sue my fiancee? We have a joint account, can that be frozen? :wallbang:

44. Texas Wage Garnishment
Wages cannot be attached or garnished, except for child support.
Income that is not a wage can be garnished or ordered turned over to a receiver.
Bank accounts, rents and royalties can be garnished.
Exemptions include social security benefits.
WARNING For individuals living in Texas who are paid from an out of state location, there is case law (Baumgardner vs. Sou Pacific 177 S.W. 2d 317) to support taking a judgment from Texas, domesticating the judgment in the foreign state, then filing the wage garnishment there. Many creditors have used this strategy successfully.
