    N400 and Traffic Violations
Hello! I'm filling N400 for my husband and I have a few questions. Part 10D
Q16. Have you ever been arrested, cited or detained by any law enforcement officer?
Q17. Have you ever been charged with committing any crime or offense?
Q18. Have you ever been convicted of a crime or offense?
Ok. His situation. He was charged with reckless driving in va but the court judge said if he would send a certificate and pay 150.00 fine it will be reduced to speeding ticket.
On instructions guide(page 25) it says that" unless a traffic accident was alcohol or drug related U do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than 500 and?or points on DL"
So, what do I file because reckless driving in Va is a crime but now it is reduced to speeding ticket. Is this is correct?
    Q16.Yes
    Q17Yes
    Q18 No
    Thank You

If he was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, then he was charged with a crime. If he was not convicted of that offense, then (at least in relation to that incident) he was not convicted of a crime.

Will that (reckless driving-no conviction) affect the citizenship application?
