Caught Shoplifting at Safeway/Dominicks

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois
So i got caught shoplifting something embarassing from dominicks...they have no proof i stole it but i wasnt in the position to have police verify that. Now they are sending me a letter about this to the house where my parents live and not my house because my drivers license still has that address on it. Is there anything i can do to change that. Also how much should i expect the fine to be for a 15$ item, i was told between 100$ and 1000$. This is my first offense ever. Also how long should it take to get to my house?

I'm going through the same problem except I got a fine for 500 Bucks..

and the item I took was about 14.95.... and it took about 4 weeks for that letter to show up at my house
