Can I Get an Easier Sentence?
My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: Ontario

Last night i was at a friends house and there was heavy drinking going on, I knew that it was going to get broken up soon so my friends and I hopped into my car and just as I was leaving an intoxicated individual was threatening me to let him drive. I obviously wouldn't let an intoxicated person drive so i rolled up the windows and began pulling out of the driveway. While i was pulling out the intoxicated individual layed ontop of the hood of the car and kept threatening me to let him drive or he'd beat me up and break all the windows.

I sat in the driveway for about 10mins yelling at him to get off and let me go, he still didnt budge and kept yelling on the threats. So i put my hazard lights on and pulled onto the road, doing 5km/h I began going up the street. I pulled into the neighbours driveway and told him to get off! I did this until i got to four houses down where I ran out of house's and had to turn onto a side street. Which i got pulled over just as i was turning onto the street. The officer told me I had three options: Stunt driving, Dangerous driving or careless driving. I ended up with careless driving and the intoxicated individual only got a ticket for drunk in public. To this day the individual is threatening me and calling me a snitch saying it was all his fault and not mine (which I believe it is all his because I did all I could to get him off). I have never had any trouble with the police and i already pay $270 a month on insurance ! I'm a G2 driver and this ticket is six points on the demerit point system. Would this mean i wont be able to get insured since I'm only allowed six? I want to fight it but i have no idea what to do since i have no experience I can't afford a lawyer since im only in highschool right now. I was reading about requesting a deferral, do I qualify for it? Thanks.

In the future, if someone insists upon riding on the outside of your vehicle, the correct response is to call the police to have them removed.

The INCORRECT response is to drive down the street in the hopes that your movement will force him/her off.

You got extremely lucky. This could have been a much worse crime involving serious injury or death very easily.
