Moving Out of Apartment As Month to Month Tenant Without Lease
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: GA
I live in a condo with a roommate. My roommate does not have a lease but has lived here almost 2 yrs. as a month to month tenant without a lease. She informed me yesterday that she may move out this weekend or at the latest she will move out on Tues. She never told me before yesterday that she was even thinking about moving out.
What are my rights in this situation since she was a month to month tenant without a lease. I know that under a lease a tenant may need to give notice of moving 60 or up to 90 days before moving. Did she need to give me notice at all since there is no lease?
Re: Moving Out of Apartment As Month to Month Tenant Without Lease
To end a tenancy at will, the landlord must give 60 days notice, and a tenant must give 30 days notice. Georgia Code Sec. 44-7-7.
