Citizen Married to Non-Resident
My husband came in the US by visitors visa, overstayed, loose his status.
I already applied for citizenship, soon after I get my certifications, we plan to file I130,485, and advance parole so he could travel.
Do we still need a lawyer to do all this for us?
How much would it normally cost?
Would it help in the processing if we hire a lawyer?
If not, which one should we file first? Do we need to wait for a reply from uscis before filing the other forms?
Please advice. Thank you.
Re: Citizen Married to Non-Resident
A lawyer would certainly help you get all of the paperwork and procedures sorted out. Fees vary, call around.
With respect to the I-130, I-485 and the advance parole, you may file the first two together. You need to wait to file for advance parole until after you've received approval from USCIS.
