Obtaining Custody of Younger Brother and Sister
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: FLORIDA
My question is:
My grandmother has had current custody of my youngest brother and sister for around 5 years, but as of today she says she is fed up with the "teens" and she called Department of Family and Children in they took the kids from her and placed them with there grandfather on their dads side but he doesn't want them and he wants to send them out of state to their biological father who just got out prison and is a known drug addict and gave up all rights years ago... our mother also gave up all rights to all four of us almost 5 years ago due to drug issues also... now my younger but of legal age sister and I want to try to obtain gaurdianship or custody of each child to make it easier on us... we are both financially capable of handling the children and they are closer to us then any of the other family... :wallbang: PLEASE any help would be of assistance to help us get started on this long path!

Both of you need to contact the DFC caseworker. In most cases, they will try to place children with relatives before they go into a non relative foster home.
