My question involves criminal law for the state of: texas
whenever i was 17 i was in a realtionship with a 27 year old man i skipped school everyday and eventually moved into his parents house with him. i was sleeping with him and we shared a bed. i am 20 now and i feel like this was an innappropraite relationship. i would like to see him have to face consequences. i know that i was not forced into anything but i feel like i was minipulated into it. i was so young and naive and he was an adult. i missed out on my education and i feel like he could have been a mature adult and stayed away. i have thought about it and since he is now seeing another young girl i feel like i should do something. is it too late? was it illegal for him to be having sex with me? how would i go about pressing the charges?
Where were your parents/guardian? Why did'nt they do anything?

Assuming it's in the same town, go talk to your local police department and file charges. Talk to a psychologist, even if it is a psych student at the local university (usually they have therapy sessions at a low cost). It's going to take a lot of work to get through this problem.
Know that when you file charges and make your statement to police you have just became a witness and he has to prove that he is innocent (and is not according to your accusations). He is going to spend every dime he has defending himself. Once you ring the bell, it has been rung and you can't unring it. He should know that 17 will get him 20. His only defense would be a Romeo law. ...and at 10 years older it does not apply.
My guess is that you used this guy to get away from home, you were likely a tough child to raise and your parents felt you were better off getting molested by an adult that "cared" for you even though you were a minor. This can really mess a person up...
You likely thought he loved you and when he found out that 10 years is great difference in age and you have different interests you all broke up. You are bitter over the breakup. The fact that you were molested you means that he committed a crime and you have EVERY right to make him pay for this and prevent him from doing it to another child.
Best wishes,

No law was broken, you were old enough to consent to sex.
