Violation of Probation for Not Reporting
My question involves criminal law for the state of: florida
Here it goes: My boyfriend was placed on probation for 10 years - he completed 3 years of it when he got Cancer and had his left kidney and part of his bladder removed. The hospital would not give him chemo because he didn't have insurance and couldn't get Medicaid because he has a felony against him. He lost his home, he had to give custody of his three children to their mother and he moved in with his brother who claimed who help him out. His brother got into a fight with him, kicked him out of his house, took his money, which in turn made it unable for him to pay his storage, so he lost of his belongings which was a three bedroom house full of stuff. He got depressed and decide what's the use of reporting when he lost everything and his health was bad. After two years he finally turned himself in. He didn't commit a new crime, he just didn't report. He is in jail right now in the medical ward. After looking at other cases and due to his health that maybe they will give him one year... What does anyone else think... Any input would be appreciated.
Re: Violation of Probation for Not Reporting
I don't know his conviction charge, I don't know his record, and I'm not able to talk to his probation officer. He should consult a criminal defense lawyer.
