    Received Permanent Residency With a Pending Divorce
    I just received my permanent residency in 2008 for 10 years it expires in 2019, if I get a divorce , will I still qualify for citizenship?

    you already received the permanent residency! doesn't really matter now if you divorce

    yeeiii for the permanent part! but I heard in order to get your citizenship, when you were granted PERMANENT RESIDENCY through marriage from a CITIZEN SPOUSE, you will need to prove that you're still living with the SAME US citizen spouse? is that not accurate?

    One can apply for citizenship 3 years after marriage (that is if you guys are still married). If you divorce now (after 2 yrs), you will have to wait another 3 yrs before applying for your citizenship.
