    Teen Shoplifting on Record
California: About two years ago (when i was about 17) i was arrested for shoplifting 30 dollars worth at WalMart. I was taken to the police station to fill out paperwork then was released to drive my shameful drive home. So anyways, a few months later I recieved something in the mail from WalMart and all I had to do was pay $150.00 I had no probation, no community service, no court to attend to. So I am wondering what is on my record for possible job people to see? (WalMart gave me a civil penalty for the CA Penal Code Sec. 490.5 (b) and (c).) I have learned, matured and grown from this regrettable experience and am now trying to get a respectable job as a bank teller and I know a bank definately would not hire me with this on my record. I guess what I am trying to get at is, if I get this expunged what will still be on my record? How do I go about getting it expunged? Any and all information is helpful, thanks.

The outcome of the arrest was what? Did this "paperwork" involve your admitting the offense and paying a fine?

Unless and until we know what's actually on your record, it's hard to give you a "next step". For now, start here.
