Change Daughter's Name, Mother's Absent, My Parents Have Custody
My question involves name change laws in the State of: Georgia

My daughter is now in the 3rd grade and is really wanting her name changed to my last name(The Father)..She Has to go by the Mothers last name and doesnt even know her..She is daily asking me to please get it changed..I have no idea on how to find the mother and really could care less about seeing her.But if there is someway I can get this done, some help would be greatly appreciated..I dont have hundreds of dollars either..If there isnt a way to deal with this cheaply or with some kind of payments , then I wont be able to work on it either...She just doesnt deserve to have to go around with a name that she doesnt even know, all because of LEGAL PAPERS.....Again..If someone could HELP ME..PLEASE PLEASE HELP...Oh and I am legitamized in the court, with DNA PAPERS.....THANKS:confused:

You'll need to try to find the mother for notification. It might be possible to serve by publication, but you really should get a consult with an attorney before you do that.
