Friend in Need of Emancipation in Arkansas
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Arkansas
Okay, my friend seriously needs help. He's a transsexual male of the age of sixteen, lives with his parents, his mother emotionally abuses him, and his father refuses to admit that my friend is a transsexual. He is very afraid that he's going to die in this house, and wishes to become emancipated so he can be in control of his own affairs without fear. He is capable of supporting himself. Is there any way he can be emancipated?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Mikey is correct... but, I also want to add, that I see nothing here that screams "EMANCIPATE ME".
I have also never heard of a teenager dying from emotional abuse.

Well, my friend asked me to find out what I can about the law, so I'm just trying to help him. Thanks so much for insight and the help.

Just so that you know, the odds of being emancipated while still living under your parents' roof are extremely low.
Parents do have the right and, in some cases, responsibility to comment upon lifestyle choices made by their minor children.
What I am saying is that ALL teenagers think that their parents come down on them for their clothes or whom they want to love.
Doesn't mean it will get them emancipated.
Emancipation is for those children that NEED it to survive... not just because a teen doesn't get along with his/her parents.
Before you ask, his/her was NOT a transgender cut... it is just how I refer to folks for whom I do not know the gender.
