How Can We Keep from Losing Our Family's Property
My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Tennessee
our parents are very sick & may not be here much longer. We have a very greedy family member who is bullying our parents around & thinks shes entitled to property because she has paid property taxes for our parents a few times. I dont know if that gives her any legal rights or not? We dont have much money & thought about getting a will kit from office supply but dont know if it will stand up in court? We are in Chapter 13 & trying to figure out how to keep from loosing inheriatence property that has been in the family now for 5 generations? Is there any way around it? :wallbang:Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If somebody gives you a gift, you don't have to pay it back. If somebody makes you a loan, you have to pay it back - but can include it in your bankruptcy plan.

In terms of how bankruptcy might allow you to keep the property, talk to your bankruptcy lawyer.
