Date of Separation and Community Property Division
My question involves divorce in the State of: Community property states
If marriage is on paper only and spouses never cohabited or lived together (either before or after marriage), can spouse have claim on property of other spouse accumulated while living separatedly?
What about the case when default divorce is granted, then after some years reversed and retried? Are newly accumulated assets up for grabs by other spouse?
Re: Date of Separation and Community Property Division
You need to identify the actual state. If there's no actual state, this is homework or some sort of research project you're doing, and I'll limit myself to wishing you luck with it.
Re: Date of Separation and Community Property Division
Sorry, I thought it would be applicable in all states.
This is in state of Ohio. Default divorce has been granted and 30 day period for appeal has passed.
