Adult Change of Fathers Name After DNA
My question involves name change laws in the State of: Washington

I just learned that my father on my birth certificate is wrong. I had a DNA test for which confirmed it. My father listed on the birth certificate is violent to my mother and I am scared to ask for a signature from him to do the change although he is aware he is not my father I cannot tell him who is. I am wanting to know how to go about making the change to my birth certificate to reflect my true father, without signature from the father listed. ( I am 41 years old)

Washington statutes suggest that it's possible to adopt an adult, so look into having your biological father adopt you.

Thank You I will check on that. Does an adoption allow change of a birth certificate? If so that might be an excellent option.
