Record for Retail Theft

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois

I was charged with an ordinance violation of retail theft. I have hired an attorney and he is confident that it will not end up on my record. My work does yearly background checks and it came up as case pending - does anyone know if it is possible to get it off my record. My court date is next week...

You will have to pay your fine, serve your probation and do your community service.

It will not be wiped off your record at the end of court.
