    Illegal Search and Seizure
My question involves police conduct in the State of: Pennsylvania

My daughter's friend came to my house to visit her baby. 15 minutes later the police arrested him and found drugs two blocks from my house. The police came to my house after that and searched my house. Before they searched my house they made me sign a paper that I didn't even know what it said because i can't read english. There was 9 officers in my living room intimidating me to sign it and I didn't own the house my name is not on the deed. After the search was over the found a hand gun that was hidden in a plant that is not even mine and drug paraphernalia. Was it an illegal search??

P.S. My daughter's friend was under investigation.

    Find out what you signed.

If you signed a consent, then the search was legal.

Did you tell them you can't read English?

If you can prove intimidation, as 9 officers is indeed a "show of authority", the consent may be invalid as a product of coercion?

If you're charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, that's often a felony charge and you should be talking to a lawyer. The paraphernalia, probably a misdemeanor, but it again can't hurt to talk to a lawyer, particularly if you're going to try to claim that the search was unlawful.

Leaving the paper aside for the moment, did the police ask for and get your oral (in spoken words) permission to search? And did you give them permission, orally?

The drug para was a scale that my son uses for cooking that was in the kitchen cabinet and the gun was a small one about 2.5 inches long that was inside one of those fake trees for decoration
