    Criminal Damage to Property

My question involves criminal law for the state of: GEORGIA
My 18 year old son was charged with criminal damage to property. He parked his car behind a church (grass parking area) to go ride with friends thinking his car would be safe there. The people living behind the church called the police said they heard loud noise and someone was cutting doughnuts in church yard. I got a call from 911 asking if car parked behind church was mine and asked who was driving it I responded and told them I would get it moved. I then called my son told him police wanted it moved. Once my son got there to pick his car up officer accused him of cutting doughnuts, my son at first said there were no d/nuts, officer argued there was, officer said everyone there with my son would be charged chosing not to argue with officer or allow friends any trouble my son said he'd take the blame and was then taken to jail since officer insisted there was d/nuts. My son was booked and put in jail I got him out the next night on $5000 property bond. I rode out to the church and didn't see any d/nuts my self All I saw was what appeared to be where ground was wet and the tires went in and even skided just a little (but not as officer describes) at certain areas but not even a quarter of a circle. The evidence clearly shows no doughnuts. I took pictures of the area. What do I do now? Either the office can't see or just takes someones word. I have never dealt with anything like this before and I am lost!! Please help any advise would be great.

So you're stating that your son was confronted by a police officer for doing donuts on a church lawn, and he confessed to the offense? Trying to defend that by stating that the damage he did to the lawn "wasn't that bad" or "didn't go in full circles" won't do much for you - damage is damage. Take pictures. They could help your son document the extent of any damages.

Your son should consult a criminal defense lawyer.
