Re: DUI and Hit and Run, by a Minor Driver
After looking at the DMV handbook do you believe that my license will be gone for 90 days, 400-1,000 dollar fine, 96 hours of community service and whatever else it said on there?
Plus, I never received a ticket for the Hit and Run, so I'm not exactly sure what that means, all I know is that I didn't get a ticket and that there was only that number next to the hit and run.

This is the state minimum. So that at LEAST.
Quote:
.02 alcohol concentration for drivers under 21 years of age
— Driver’s license is suspended for 90 days.
— May be required to fi le an SR-22, Proof of Financial Responsibility. See Chapter 6.
— Criminal penalties may be imposed.
• Criminal
First DUI offense:
— Driver’s license revoked for 90 days. After half the
revocation period has been completed a restricted license may be issued.
— Jail sentence of 2 days to 6 months, or 96 hours of community service.
— Fine of $400 to $1,000.
— Payment of tuition for DUI school; average cost is $150.
— May be ordered to attend a program of treatment when the concentration of alcohol in your
blood or breath is .08 or more.
A couple things to note: Your assuming that you'll get community service. You could go to jail. You are also leaving out any rehab. You said in your OP you had a BAC of .16 are you sure about that?
These is for the DUI and does not include the hit and run

This is your case number. Your being charged in juvenile court which is to your benefit. You are being charged with hit and run.
I really urge you to speak to your neighbor and get her advice, shes in the local system and should be able to be of assistance. I can't even imagine how much it's going to cost to insure you.
Re: DUI and Hit and Run, by a Minor Driver
I already know that I will be on probation for 6 months after my court date, so I think that cancels out rehab or substitutes it.
And I am almost positive a minor can't go to jail. I guess it could be a possibility of Juvenile Hall, but I don't think jail. I'm waiting until tonight so I can be sure that she is home to talk to her. I'll keep you posted.
And also, I know a kid that is going to court on Monday for DWI. He crashed his car into a wall on Promethazine and he also has drug charges of some sort. Can I somewhat compare my sentence to whatever he receives in your opinion?
Re: DUI and Hit and Run, by a Minor Driver
Probation is a great outcome for you. I also don't think you'll go to jail, maybe the DH for a couple of days. You need to appear humble and remorseful when you do face the judge.
If you have the ability to talk to the kid then do. He may have some pointers as to what to do and not do. You quite possibilty get the same sentence.
Keep me informed, I feel for ya.
