Illegal Left Turn, No Ticket but Followed, Chances of Ticket in Mail
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Indiana
Ok, so I just got my first speeding ticket 2 weeks ago (70 in a 60). I was planning on doing this deferal program which is $252 but mailing in the form tomorrow. However, an incident today has got me all worked up and hesitant to mail it in since I will lose the money and have to pay the ticket on top of it if I get a ticket for today's occurance.
I was driving today on a road that has two lanes of traffic on each side. I went to turn left across the two lanes of traffic when no one was coming in order to enter into the shopping center where CVS on the other side of the street. As I was doing this, I instantly noticed a 'do not enter' sign on on side of this two lane entry into the center. I instantly panicked so I went anyway just hoping that I would be ok. I am not from this town as I am here for college so I had never seen this sign before since I was unfamiliar w this side of town. Anyway, I saw immediate a police mustang behind me that also made this turn, and followed me with my right turn into the CVS parking lot. Panicking, I immediately acted oblivious, got out of my car, and walked into the store. About 3 minutes later I came out and the cop was gone.
What are my chances that he will issue a ticket through the mail? I am a nervous wreck now b/c I don't want to lose the chance of doing this deferal program and I can harldy afford it as it is.
Thanks in advance.

There is no way anyone here can give you odds on whether or not you'll be mailed a ticket. We have no idea what the officer decided to do.

first, I AM NOT AN EXPERT, but I have a follow-up question. If that "do not enter" sign was with regards to the shopping center parking lot, ie a private lot not city, wouldn't that sign have been put up by the owners of the lot, not the city? Police cannot ticket for "violating" a rule of a private lot, can they?

So what would be the logical reasoning for a private parking lot owner to put up a "Do not enter" sign if there is nobody to enforce that restriction?
Moreover, how do you know if it was the parking lot owner who put up the sign and not the city, or the county, to prevent drivers from making what could be a dangerous left turn into the same parking lot?
