Illegal Trying to Get a Green Card

My boyfriend crossed the border from Mexico when he was 16, which was 9 yrs ago. Since then, the only legal issues he has encountered has been driving without a DL. He hasn't done anything else to get in trouble, but because of that he is in the system.

Is there any way for him to get his green card and be legal?

Unfortunately, it's quite unlikely.

He might consider consulting an immigration attorney, but unless and until the DREAM Act is passed, he's not likely to be granted anything approaching legal status any time soon.
