Filed EDD Follow-Up Claim Late, Denied for the Late Period
(correction: the title should say "Follow-up")
I filed the Unemployment claim at the end of November and couldn't send in the follow-up questionare on time because I moved out of my place and was living someplace else, not getting my mail.
I filed the follow-up at the beginning of Jan, got a phone interview, and was determined ineligible for the time period from "when i filed the claim" to the "due date for the questionare that I missed". 1253a
Does this mean that I got approved for the weeks thereafter?? Do I need to re-apply every week? I'm pretty confused on how the whole unemployment process works and would appreciate if somebody could help me that has dealt with this before.
Also.... can't get through their stupid system or otherwise check my status.. Please help!:wallbang::confused:

Unfortunately, I am not able to read the letter from where I'm sitting, and thus cannot explain it to you. I suggest contacting your UI claim representative and asking. Sorry that their lines are busy - there are lots of people claiming unemployment these days.

The same thing just happened to me. Did you ever resolve the situation or find out what the deal is?
Re: Filed EDD Follow-Up Claim Late, Denied for the Late Period
This is why I have a P.O. Box. No matter where I move, my important mail goes to the same place. Any thing to do with unemployment, IRS, DMV....all have the same address. (my drivers licenise, checks...all have my P.O. Box)If I send away for something, it goes to my P.O. Box, not my home where it might be left in the rain or someone may take it if I'm not home.

If you have cleared this up i would like to know how you did.
Thanks
