Does a Co-Signer Have to Sign the Lease Renewal
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Illinois

Does a co-signer have to sign the lease renewal? I have had a tenant for 4 years who had a co-signer on his original lease. Each renewal is for 1 year at a time. That co-signer now wants to be taken off the lease. Is she still legally on the lease since she never signed any of the renewals?

That depends upon the contract the cosigner signed. It's possible, depending on the contract terms, that with no new signature their duties as cosigner ended after the first lease term.
