    Landlord Wont Make Repairs
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Virginia

I have lived at my current home for 3 years now, for the last year and a half I have been trying to get my landlord to fix the bathroom floor. There is water damage around the bathtub and the floor is literally rotting away. There is a huge hole in the wall that you can see outside to and now there is one at the end of the bathtub that you can see straight down into our basement. I have two small children and I am terrified the bathtub is going to fall through the floor one day when they are in it. The main problem is we rent off of a family member therefore they donot feel as though they have to fix the issue. We have been told over and over that the problem would be fixed and then when we ask about it again, its always "well I dont have the money right now" or " I will fix it at such and such date" and then that day never comes...What are our options, we really dont want to move we just want the house to be safe. any help would be appreciated =)

Do you have a lease? what does the lease state? who is responsible for the repairs?

If you do not have a lease, it may be best for you to find another place to live.
