Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
Folks, these e-mails are not just harmless pranks.
The bad guys use them to put bots on your computer (which cannot be deleted) to use your computer to send more spam.
You shouldn't even open these e-mails!
Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
You describe why people (particulary those on Windows machines) should use anti-virus software. But in the absence of an attachment, I am not aware of any modern email client that is vulnerable to a virus or worm embedded in html mail, and in my experience even that isn't an issue because most of these emails come as simple, text mail.
If you're in the habit of opening attachments from people you don't know, you should make sure that you subscribe to anti-viral software and keep your subscriptions up-to-date.
For Windows users, there are a couple of free programs you can use to clean spyware and malware from your computer as a matter of periodic maintenance. Spybot and Ad-Aware.
Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
Hello Everyone;
I just received this morning, an email scam. It is basically word from word, as others have already posted. That I may be the next of kin, from a father & daughter that were killed in a car accident in April 2000, on Kpalime Express Road, in Lome Tago. Mauricee Egobekke set me this email, stating that there is $18.5 million US, waiting for me.
I guess I'll have to continue on buy the 649, for my millions.

Dating sites beware recent Barrister Tony abbas inheritence nigerian scam w/pcollis
I am so glad for forums. This is how this scam started almost like others but with a twist. I belong to a christian dating site called fusion101. A nigerian named collis wrote me. We like others wrote back. Then he emailed me in my regular email box and then he wanted me to marry him. He told me his dad was poisoned by his business partners and barrister is who I should contact concerning an inheritence. He was nice and what bothered me was when he talked about his son meaning my son. He asked me for some information. I gave him information that people would know on sites. First this attorney named barrister queency harold lawfirm was contacted. He contacted me back agreeing to situation. When he contacted me again. It came up Barrister Tony Abbas and my email address nor his was in the address spot. I thought that was weird. He asked me for more information but not a bank account nor social. The guy wrote me names p_collis24@yahoo.com form the christian site requested over and over to contact him we have a few weeks to be married and he loved me. Well yesterday my intuition said type Tony Abbas nigerian attorney which scam came up he is from lagos Nigeria. When I put a hit on Patrick collis and queency chanber nothing showed up. He is now saying that he is not lying to me. So I am just going to email the fraud letter to him and block him. He said the attorney would get 60% and me $40%. I think it is bad that they are going through dating sites so beware.
