Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
I got one of those next of kin email offers, here is mine i have changed the last and put XXX's instead,if you sit here and think about it its amazing how people get sucked into these types of things...I got this email and thought i would drag this out and see how far i could go with it....
Dear XXXX,
My name is Mr. Yemi Daniel, a Banker with one of the leading banks here in Abidjan Cote d'Ivoire West Africa; I am the personal accounts manager to Mr. William XXXX, who used to be a contractor with an oil servicing company based here in Cote Ivoire. My client, his wife, and their three children were involved in the ill fated Kenya Airways crash in the coasts of Abidjan in January 2000 in which all passengers on board died. Since then I have made several inquiries to locate any of my clients extended relatives but has been unsuccessful. I decided to trace his last name over the internet, to see if I could locate any member of his family hence I contacted you.
Of particular interest is this large deposit with our bank here, where the deceased has an account valued at about ($15 million US dollars) They have issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or the bank will declare the account unserviceable
And thereby send the funds to the government treasury. Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over last 5 years now, I seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased since you have the same last names, so that the proceeds of this account valued at can be paid to you and then you and I can share the money.
All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us seeing this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under all legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. If you can handle this with me, reach me by sending the following informations now through this email account:
1. Your Name
2. Postal Address
3. Date of Birth
4. Telephone and fax numbers
5. Profession with position
Thanking you for your anticipated cooperation.
Sincerely yours
Yemi Daniel
Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
and then here is the second email that was sent to me...and he had the nerve to send a supposed Bank ID...i got suspecious and decided to google the bank, and like i suspected it did not exist
Dear XXXX
I have received your particulars and I wish to inform you a letter of introduction
has been sent to the management of our bank in your favor as my late client's only relative/survive next kin Mr. William XXXX, who is to inherit his estate, please be at alert because they may be contacting you any moment to confirm your claim before the request for transfer of the estate can be process, should they ask you any question you do not understand direct it to me
Lastly, Due to the large sum of money involved in this transaction you definitely
need a services of an accredited lawyer of High Court of Justice based here in Cote d'Ivoire my country to legally represent you and normalize the relevant paper work relating to this transaction in your name to authenticate the claim as the deceased’s next of kin as would demand by our bank to effect the estate transfer.
However upon your demand I would look for a good lawyer here and connect him to you to negotiate your legal representation
Attached copy is my ID
Have a nice day

Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
and it continues....
Dear XXXX
Thanks for your appreciation, the question of any one asking you for a proof does not arise here because as his personal accounts manager I have formally introduce you to the management of my bank as his kin if they need any other information related to the account I would always provide for you ok.
The next arrangement that must be made now is a lawyer that will represent you here to normalize the paper work in your name at the High Court of Justice because as non resident here in my country my bank must make such demand, however I have discussed with a law firm today for handling your the estate claim on your behalf they said it will cost about $1,500 .00 to normalize the documents in your name at the High Court, you can contact them with their contact information as you have bellow:

Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
i have to see how far this goes....
Dear XXXX
I have tried to convince the law firm to do the job so that they can the money after the transfer but they made me understand that $1,500.00 is the amount of fees to be paid at the High Court before the transaction papers can be normalize & document in your name therefore I should not expect them pay this $1,500.00 it's compulsory charges to be paid by the client.
The only solution is for you to find a way and come up with balance of $500.00 as I have been able to put together $1000.00 here, if you can send the balance of $500.00 today they will start processing the paper work as it's needed urgently to effect the estate transfer
Wait your urgent reply
Regards
Yemi Daniel
Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
thought i would post this so people can beware of the scams and how they make it seem so real...dont fall for it...
Dear XXXX
I am glad you are able to meet up this target, really you used the word impose but I dont want to believe that you know every one cannot be like me, the lawyer told me the amount is for High Court charges for the legal documents so the only solution is you have been able to come up with the balance of $500.00 to make up the $1000.00 I have here.
He said you should send it through Western Union Money Transfer to the accounts Clark and its $500.00 (Five Hundred United States Dollars )
Name= JOHN EBUBE
City s= ABIDJAN
Country = COTE D’IVOIRE – WEST AFRICA
I have already deposited the $1000.00 with them and he said if they receive the balance of $500.00 tomorrow you shall have the estate transfer by next week
Regards
Yemi Daniel
N/B: Please you have to forward the Western Union Trnasfer information to enable them pick it up here
Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
Yes I read these type emails before and I learned several things about them. If you're a multi-millionaire don't fly in a plane or get in a car with your family in Africa. If you do most likely every member of the family will unfortunately die. Then some lawyer, accountant, bank clerk, or very dear friend will try to obtain your fictional funds or at least send bogus emails to others to send them money and personal information to obtain it. It's like MLM and people are still ripped off by that too. It's very sad.
Re: Next of Kin Email Offers
this is the response that i got from the supposed "lawyer" when i asked him how i was going to be able to have access to the money...

I have copied a copy of the email I received this week replacing my last name with xxxxx's. I forwarded this to spam.uce.gov so they can deal with it.
Not sure why you were not able to cut and paste your email. Did I miss something? I did not see anything in the agreement that we could not paste examples here.
The email did come from what looked to be a legitimate yahoo.com email address.
Thanks,
Mark

Dear xxxxx,
I am Barrister Fred Kwame, a legal practitioner, I am the personal attorney to Mr.J.xxxxx, a national Of your country, who used to work with Shell Development Company in Lome Togo. He used to be my client my client.

Since I have been unsuccesfull in locating the relatives for over two years now, I seek the consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since you have the same last names, so that the proceeds of this account can be paid to you.
Therefore, on receipt of your positive response, we shall then discuss the sharing ratio and modalities for transfer.I have all necessary information and legal documents needed to back you up for claim. All I require from you is your honest cooperation to enable us see this transaction through. I guarantee that this will be executed under legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.
Best Regards,
Fred Kwame Esq.
Lome Togo.
I Too have received this same exact email from this same Fred Kwame and decided to do my own research. So glad I found this site, not that I would have been stupid enough to proceed with such a profound idea to attempt an illegal action. Although I at the beginning as most probably have, thought for a moment that perhaps this could be legitimate. Shame on these people. If they were trying to get my bank account number they would have been greatly disappointed.
