    Guardians Becoming Homeless
My question involves guardianship in the State of: riverside calif

My husband have permanent custody of our 4 year old grand daughter since birth.

He lost his job and our house all in the same month. We have no family and no one to go.

I heard social services can give us motel vouchers to stay. I hoping a few weeks

our unemployment is an extension and that is running out in 6 weeks..

Will this affect our guardianship with a little granddaughter ...she is the light of our life
I dont want to lose her. I know he can get a job we just need more time
the jobs are pretty dried up in california.

we need a place to stay but I dont want to jeoparize our guardianship.

    thank you

Contact your county government or social services about getting emergency housing assistance.

You should look on this site and figure out which one is located near you, they can also help out providing housing and financial needs. You need to get all paperwork that you got today into the HUD by tomorrow, there are waiting lists, those with children are usually pushed more to the tops but I am sure there is still a list.

Community Action near you maybe able to provide some financial help, and hotel vouchers but most times those are only for a week to two days. You have 6 weeks of unemployment but you need to be acting now.
