Posession of Shotgun While On Felony Probation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Louisiana
hi im on non violent probation in louisiana .I went hunting and got caught with a firearm by a convicted felon..I have a revocation hearing coming up and i need to know what are my options and what am i looking at...

Also i was sentenced to 4 yrs HL in doc but was suspended i got 3 yrs probation.They never found the gun in my possetion.The game wardn told me he knew i was on probation and if i signed a statment explang what happened and dont lie i wouldnt be charged..Can i say my gf was with me but ran home..The found 2 jackets in the woods with the shotgun...I never told them i was alone

You should find the services of an excellent attorney unless you want to spend the next three years or so in prison.

Well is there any hope i mean i didnt kill assault or rob anyone.m a hard worker who just went hunting.. have a yr left on probation with like 1000 left to pay i was 2500 behind but i got caught up..So What Is The Probability of Me No Going To Prison.......

Did you miss the part of the probation hearing that outlined the loss of your firearm rights?

I don't care what your original crime was... Your future judge will only see that you not only ignored the court while it was trying to cut you a break but you also violated the STRONGEST of the prohibitions.

You really stuck your foot in a bear trap on this one.

Damn...Well Thank You For Talking with Me..But one last Thing Alot of talk About A 90 day turnaround..Its Been Done Many Times IN My Parish .First violation..U think any hope of More probation added or stricter probation and also will i have to do the whole 4 yrs or what i have left on my probation and also will i be sentenced at my hearing or will I go to court a few times first...like only one court hearing on revocation because i was on texas probation and i went like 5 times befor he sentenced me there

We can't predict what will happen... could range from your original sentence to nothing.

Too many variables including the judge's mood on the day of trial.

May I also assume you were hunting without a license?

I am sorry to hear of your problems. However, you had to know that you should not be in posession of a firearm.

Maybe this is a good time to take a good hard look at yourself and see how you can improve your life once all of this is behind you.

Then, no, they won't help much.

The big thing you should be concerned about is the probation revocation. I'm sure that one of the conditions of your probation was that you obey the law. Then you go commit a new felony and whatever hunting without a license is.

In the probation hearing, the state's burden of proof is lower. You don't have to be convicted beyond a reasonable doubt to spend time in jail or prison.

I'd count on getting some time revoked.
