Emancipation Rights in Kentucky
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Kentucky
I am a sixteen year old male whom lives in the state of Kentucky. At the moment, I am not in school, but do have truancy court at 1 pm tom. which will be the sixth of January. I am not in school due to things that have happened, but I do plan to drop out and get my GED. I wish to get Emancipated due to the fact I can make it on my own without a problem. I will be moving in with my friend in Seymour, Indiana, whom has his own apartment and needs help paying Electricity, which I will be able to do upon getting a job.
Now, my question to this forum is: Do I even NEED to get Emancipated in order to move in with him? Or can I do it if I have parental consent, or what?
Thank you.

Re: Emancipation in Kentucky
You best hope you get parental consent to move. Why you ask? Simple nothing! in your post suggest you are a canidate for emancipation
Re: Emancipation in Kentucky
Not to sound harsh, but you must be unintelligent, panther.
Because I am indeed a candidate for Emancipation,
due to the fact I can support myself, and understand the consequences of being emancipated.
But my question was simple:
Can I legally move in with my friend in Seymour without being emancipated if I have parental consent?
Re: Emancipation in Kentucky
How can you support yourself without a Job? Saying you are getting one, and actually having one with a long standing job history are two different things.

"How can you support yourself without a Job"
I'll have support until I get a job.
Regardless of law, I'm moving in with him.
I've always thought the Government was corrupt, it is that simple.
Laws and rules exist to control human beings, such being the status of a higher authority.
Re: Emancipation in Kentucky
Not sure what moving in with someone has to do with the government but good luck!
Re: Emancipation in Kentucky
Alot.
But, it doesn't matter, I'll probably have to stay at home with my parents and do eschooling until I'm eighteen or something.
I'm just trying to get my life started early, is all
