Permanent Resident With an Impending Divorce
    Greetings,
I met and dated B since Fall 2000.
I married him Spring of 2004.
I filed in 2006 and received my permanent residency March 2007.

Now there is trouble in paradise and we are talking possible divorce. Does that affect my permanent residency (I received a 10 year Green Card, so I'm assuming it's not a conditional one...)?
Also, what about citizenship? I was planning on applying for citizenship eventually, but I'm not sure how a divorce will impact all of this.

I would be grateful for any information relevant to my situation.

    Thank you
    ~A~

If your Green Card isn't conditional, it's not affected by your divorce. Given the time frame you describe that's possible, but obviously that's not something we can verify for you. If you maintain permanent residency, and the worst thing that happens along the way is your divorce, you will ultimately qualify for citizenship.
