My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arkansas
Earlier this year I was seeing this guy. As soon as we started dating he was all about trying to get in my pants. I told him it was too soon, and that I didn't know him enough for that. He kept pressuring me and at points would try to pull my pants down. Then one night, he got me drunk, and took advantage of me. I was saying no, and trying to pull my pants back up, but I was so drunk I eventually just gave up and layed there. I thought since I gave in eventually, that it was consensual. I wasn't comfortable the next morning but for some stupid reason I didn't say anything about it and kept on dating this guy. But one thing my family noticed was that he kept me drunk. He kept me drunk so he could sleep with me. Well I got smart enough to leave this guy because I saw signs in him I didn't like. So I was wondering, if a man gives a woman alcohol to inebriate her so that he can have sex with her, is that a felony? I told my brother in law and my sister about everything and they want me to charge him with rape. But even though I did say no, I did finally did give in when he pressured me. So can I still charge him with rape? I was so confused as to whether to call it rape or not since I did eventually give in. At first I was scared to say anything because he'd get up on me like he was going to hit me and he threatened to harm me and my family. I cannot use those because I deleted the text messages along time ago, along with his phone number. So all I'm stuck with is a mistake and bad memory. Maybe I should just forget it and move on, I've got a wonderful man now.
