    Visitation outside of county
I was recently served with a Petition to Establish Parental Relationship and an Order to Show Cause. There are currently no court orders in place to determine Custody or Visitation. My Ex is telling me that I can not take my child outside of the County to visit my parents. I know on the Summons it says neither party can remove child from the State. Is it true for the County also? He is threating to call the police and have me arrested if I leave the county. Also my child is curretnly visiting relatives in another city. She left with them on Sunday. He filed the Petition on Tuesday and is threating to call authorities if I do not bring her backASAP. Can I get in trouble for this being that she left county before he filed the Petition. Please help a confused Mother.

You are bound by the court order, not by your ex's threats. You should keep a certified copy of the current order in your possession at all times, in case your boyfriend tries to call the police, so you can document that you are not violating the order. You should consult a local family lawyer about your rights, and about defending yourself in relation to any parenting time demands. A lawyer can also determine if there are any orders of which you might not be aware, although your ex- is probably blowing smoke.
