    Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS)
I am new to this webpage. I have viewed the Child Custody section; which I found very helpful. Is anyone familar with Parental Alienation Syndrome? I am somewhat familar. I have read articles by Richard Gardner. This is a big issue in my Custody case (my very long story). I just wish I could get stronger. Don't know how ex-husbands could be so mean, especially when kids are involved.

PAS gets a lot less attention than it used to, perhaps because lawyers use the term more judiciously than in the past. As it is not a formal psychological diagnosis, it tends to be a very loaded term. In court, it is often best to focus on the conduct and its effect on the child, without actually labeling it as PAS.
