Rejected Visa 212(A)(2)(A)(I)(I)
Hi everyone
I am from Argentina and applied for a Usa tourist visa, I got mine but my friend was rejected under this item 212 (a) (2) (A) (I) (I). Can anyone explain what does it mean? We had everything already paid for, tickets and hotels to spend new year in Usa, is there anything I can do to reverse this situation? can he apply again? please I need Help!!!!!!!! my english might not be very good....sorry.

It's a reference to INA 212, restricting the admission of people convicted of certain crimes: 8 USC 1182:

(A) Conviction of certain crimes
(i)
In general Except as provided in clause (ii),
any alien convicted of, or who admits having committed, or who admits committing acts which constitute the essential elements of—
(I) a crime involving moral turpitude (other than a purely political offense) or an attempt or conspiracy to commit such a crime, or
(II) a violation of (or a conspiracy or attempt to violate) any law or regulation of a State, the United States, or a foreign country relating to a controlled substance (as defined in section 802 of title 21),
is inadmissible.
