Illinois Deferred Prosecution for Consumption As a Minor
i was charged with consumption as a minor.
    I was offered differed prosecution.
this required me to take an evaluation to determine weather or not i was an alcoholic.
If determined that i was an alcoholic i would have to take alcoholism treatment classes.
If not then i would only be required to take alcohol education classes.
My evaluation determined that I was not an alcoholic, but it was determined that i was "Cannabis dependent".
I was told that i would have to take drug treatment classes that will cost atleast $2000 or not be eligable for deffered prosecution.

Does anyone know if that is within the law???

Sounds like a for profit enterprise got mixed in there somewhere. There isn't anyway to know although we have all seen a variation of it. Best to consult a lawyer in your county.

Not sure, so only normal common sense advice. Sounds like a private company your county has hired to do these services. Alaska send prison inmates to a privately owned jail in Arizona on contract. Id ask your lawyer first or even go to the court clerks and tell them about it. If its not right they might help you out.
