Emancipating to Move Away With my Boyfriend
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of:
I live in Gary, Indiana, and Im 16 going on 17, i want to get emancipated because i want to get away from my mother and the life that she has messed so far, and then me and my boyfriend want to move out of indiana, so i wanna know how could it be possible to get emancipated, and do i really need my parent to help file for it?
Re: Emancipating to Move Away With my Boyfriend
The chances that any judge will emancipate a teenager so that she can move out of state with her boyfriend are something less than zero.

Re: Emancipating to Move Away With my Boyfriend
The reason you cite is not one that a judge will consider adequate to emancipate you. "I want to get away from my mother" will not fly in any state as a valid reason. Neither will, "I want to move out of state", "I want to be with my boyfriend" or, "I just think it will be better for me if I am on my own".
