    MySpace High School Harassment
My question involves criminal law for the state of: South Carolina

Found out a 15 yr old had created a false Myspace page on my son, also 15, stating he is "gay". A copyrighted photograph was taken from my professional photo site for use on this page. He also started a "hate" Myspace site on my son. The mental pressure on my son is very hard. Myspace opened a file for investigators, a case number was assigned, the investigator met with the offender and he confessed to all of the above but was not informed of any charges being filed. The child is unrepentent, will not give a public apology as agreed to with his mother. The sites have been removed but enough is enough. What can the child be charged with and whats the max punishment. Thanks

The charge will be whatever a prosecutor chooses to charge, assuming the prosecutor can identify the violation of a criminal statute. You can look through South Carolina's criminal laws here, brainstorm which might apply, and then look up the penalty.
